【你這個怪獸！小心使用PLAY這個字】
暑假！最近有幾個學生去遊樂園 (amusement park), 然後這樣跟我說：
? I played the roller coaster.
Roller coaster 就是雲霄飛車。問題在哪裡呢？

問題是動詞 play. Play 聽起來是用手來打球，或者彈音樂等。
如果遊樂園的設施說 play, 聽起來很像你是個金剛、酷斯拉，你個兒大到你可以用手來玩雲霄飛車，把它揮來揮去！
這是個怪獸行為！因此，原則是：
★ 遊樂園的設施，應該說 go on, ride, 或 take. 我自己會說 go on. 正確的就是：
√ I went on the roller coaster.
或
√ I rode the roller coaster.
或
√ I took the roller coaster.
